Online Teaching in Classrooms

There are multiple resources provided by ITAC that will facilitate online teaching in classrooms. Classrooms compatible with Zoom, DLP, Microsoft Teams and Ensemble Anthem are available for use. To schedule your academic section in an online teaching compatible room, notify your departmental class scheduler.

Zoom

Zoom is a web-conferencing tool. Its highly accessible features allow you to attend video or audio meetings, hold webinars, share presentations and transfer files, teach and attend online classes in real time, and much more. Meetings can be joined from desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones. Sessions can be recorded so those who cannot attend can still benefit from this tool. For more information on Zoom, visit ITAC’s website.

Distance Learning Platform (DLP)

The Distance Learning Platform (DLP) is technology installed in select academic classrooms that offer faculty a supported, professional audio and video educational environment for synchronous distance education. For more information on DLP rooms, visit ITAC’s website.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a free tool offered to Texas State University as part of Office 365, giving faculty, staff, and students the ability to collaborate and share information. Teams includes one-on-one chat, team chat, video conferencing, the ability to place voice and video phone calls, and file sharing. Invite everyone you work with to chat, meet, call, and collaborate all in one place, no matter where you are. For more information on Microsoft Teams, visit ITAC’s website.

Ensemble Anthem

Ensemble Anthem allows faculty and staff to create screencast video recordings with just a computer and microphone. Incorporate recordings into your curriculum to enhance digital learning and supplement face-to-face instruction, record lessons, or record whatever is on your screen as a sharable video. For more information on Ensemble Anthem, visit ITAC’s website.
